ASVS

Application Security Verification Standard

Definition

ASVS is an OWASP framework that defines security requirements and controls for web applications at three levels of rigor. Level 1 covers opportunistic threats, Level 2 covers most apps handling sensitive data, and Level 3 is for critical applications requiring the highest assurance.

Development teams use ASVS as a security checklist during design, development, and testing.
