Definition

Tekton is a Kubernetes-native CI/CD framework that defines pipeline components (Tasks, Pipelines, PipelineRuns) as Kubernetes custom resources. Running pipelines as Kubernetes workloads provides native scalability, RBAC integration, and cluster-native secret management.

Tekton underpins Red Hat OpenShift Pipelines and is a CNCF incubating project for cloud-native CI/CD.
