Threat Intelligence

Definition

Threat intelligence is evidence-based knowledge about existing or emerging threats — including tactics, techniques, procedures (TTPs), indicators of compromise (IOCs), and actor profiles — used to inform security decisions. It is consumed in machine-readable formats (STIX/TAXII) by SIEM and SOAR platforms to automate detection and response.

Threat intelligence enables organizations to prioritize defenses against the threats most relevant to their industry and technology stack.
